The Public Access NTRL (National Technical Reports Library), a service of the National Technical Information Service (NTIS), offers free public access to a searchable online database of approximately three million federally-funded science and technology reports. The Public NTRL only offers their basic search, ?Quick Search.? For those within the United States, the free full text for over 850,000 documents, most published since 1995, can be immediately downloaded in PDF format. Note: Free registration and sign in are required to display the free full text.

- Suggestions from NTIS: NTIS Technical Reports are produced from government-sponsored research. They are directly submitted to or collected by NTIS from Federal agencies for permanent accessibility to industry, academia and the public. Before purchasing from NTIS, you may want to check for free access from :
- Submit an Interlibrary Loan Request. Please include all the information you have on the report, especially the report number, if you have it.
- If the report was issued prior to 1976, try the Technical Report Archive & Image Library (TRAIL). TRAIL has digitized more than 40,000+ full-text U. S. Government technical reports, primarily prior to 1976. Some digitized reports may not be available due to copyright restrictions.
